Trauma and Resiliency in Families

Target Audience

DHHS, NFC, mental health professionals, shelter staff, hospital social workers, school social workers, youth serving organizations.

Description

The purpose of this training is to provide child welfare professionals with foundational knowledge about trauma and its effect on children and families as well as explore strategies that are trauma-informed in working with populations with a history of trauma.
Participants will:
  • Be able to define trauma.
  • Understand the effects of trauma on children and families.
  • Gain strategies for working with families who may have a trauma history.
