Language and Interviews in Children

Target Audience

Professionals who interview children with the purpose of gathering information for investigations.


This training focuses on language development of children with the purpose of helping professionals understand how to best interview children to gather accurate and reliable information. 
 Participants will learn:
  • Differences in the ways adults and children use and understand language
  • Tips for how to gather reliable, accurate information from children in professional interviews
  • Common mistakes and words that may be problematic when interviewing children
The training is enhanced by discussing case examples from the trainer’s work in the field. 
Space is limited to 40 participants per training.
