Working With Families

Working With Families: Seeing the Whole Picture

Dan’s seeing a therapist. Bridget’s working with a case worker. Lacey’s always dropping in to see the school counselor. Jeremy’s on probation. In this immersive training experience, you will meet each of these individuals who all live in one home and comprise a family. Through this case, we will explore what we bring to the table when working with families, the difficulties of collaboration, and try to remember why we all chose to do the hardest jobs in the world: protecting children and serving families. So, let’s get to work...

Participants will learn:

  • The importance of seeing individuals in the context of being one member of an entire family
  • The value of communication and collaboration with other professionals
  • A new appreciation for the complexity of families and cases in the child welfare system
