Protecting children is something we are responsible for every day. We make sure they wear helmets, knee pads, eat enough before a big game and drink plenty of water. So why should our safeguards around child sexual abuse be any different? This training is geared toward adults working with youth on sports teams and other extracurricular activities, increasing awareness, and their role in keeping kids safe. This includes understanding your role as a mandatory reporter and gaining knowledge about the prevalence, relevance, and severity of sexual abuse. Gain helpful strategies to ensure the safety of youth participating in extracurricular activities.
Participants will learn:

  • To develop an understanding of the prevalence and impact of childhood sexual abuse
  • How to report any suspicions of child abuse or neglect
  • Strategies to protect yourself and the youth in your life
This training meets the requirements for 3 CEUs (Continuing Education Units) for social workers and Licensed Mental Health Professionals in Nebraska and Iowa.
