September 13th: Gangs and Children: Keeping Kids Safe

The purpose of this training to gain an understanding of why children join gangs, what the process may be in joining a gang, and discussing strategies to keep children out of gang activity.

Participants will learn:

  • How gangs are structured and the levels of hierarchy
  • How gangs initiate new members
  • Prevention methods to keep children from joining gangs
This training is conducted by Alberto Gonzalez and/or Terrance Mackey who have worked with the Omaha Police Department gang unit.

This training meets the requirements for 2 CEUs (Continuing Education Units) for social workers and Licensed Mental Health Professionals in Nebraska and Iowa.
