Designed for professionals who provide services in the home, this course discusses the importance of empathy in engaging families while simultaneously assessing strengths and needs.
Participants will learn to:
- Recognize how biases and assumptions affect family engagement
- Explain the difference between sympathy and empathy
- Listen, tune in, and engage clients
Scenarios are enacted in Project Harmony’s training apartment to facilitate experiential learning.
This training meets the requirements for 3 CEUs
(Continuing Education Units) for social workers and Licensed Mental Health Professionals in Nebraska and Iowa.
