November 1st: Engaging Through Empathy: Domestic Violence

The purpose of this training is to develop skills in engaging challenging families due to domestic violence. This training is completed in partnership with Christon MacTaggart, the Domestic Violence Response Coordinator from the Women’s Fund.
Participants will learn to:
- Recognize how biases and assumptions around domestic violence affect family engagement
- Empathize with clients experiencing domestic violence
- Listen, tune in, and engage these clients
Scenarios are enacted in Project Harmony’s training apartment to facilitate experiential learning.
This training meets the requirements for 3 CEUs
(Continuing Education Units) for social workers and Licensed Mental Health Professionals in Nebraska and Iowa.
