What is Compassion Fatigue? Who does it effect? Why should you care? How do you deal with it?
The focus of this session will be aimed at answering these very questions regarding compassion fatigue. This workshop will answer these questions and build skills in the participant to identify, consider, and manage symptoms of compassion fatigue. Participants will learn in an experiential environment that provides reflection and analysis on their own symptoms of compassion fatigue through use of the Professional Quality of Life Scale (ProQol), which measures compassion satisfaction, burnout, and secondary traumatic stress related to their professional life.
Participants will use this information that they have learned to explore strategies that buffer against the symptoms of compassion fatigue. This discussion will include that of both organizational and individual strategies that promote resilience in the workforce related to compassion fatigue.
This training meets the requirements for 1.5 CEUs (Continuing Education Units) for social workers and Licensed Mental Health Professionals in Nebraska and Iowa.
