Training Institute


In late 2007, Project Harmony formalized the Training Institute. Since its inception, thousands of professionals have been trained in topics including:

  • The process of child abuse investigations
  • Recognizing and reporting child abuse
  • Medical aspects of child abuse
  • Testifying in court
  • Managing change in an organization
  • Supervision

Mission

To be the model for teaching and learning state-of-the art child protection practice.

Goal

Promote multidisciplinary collaboration in child abuse investigation, prosecution and treatment.

2010 Child Abuse and Neglect 101: Reporting and Responding to Child Abuse and Neglect Calendar

The purpose of this three hour course is to prepare mandatory reporters with the knowledge and skill needed to recognize and report child abuse and neglect. Information and registration for 2010.

2010 Child Abuse and Neglect 201: Collaboration in Child Abuse Investigations Calendar

Designed for HHS and DHS, law enforcement, county attorneys, 1184 team members, and Project Harmony Board and Service League members, the purpose of this 3 hour training is to enhance collaboration in child abuse investigations by working through a child abuse and neglect case, and learning the roles and responsibilities of law enforcement, CPS Initial Assessment, forensic interviewers, and medical providers. The class is taught by experts representing law enforcement, child protective services, and Project Harmony. Attendance is free but on-line registration is required. 2010 Children's Hospital & Medical Center's Annual Child Abuse Conference

Co-hosted by Project Harmony. CEU's are available for nurses, physicians, LMHP's, social workers, attorneys (including advanced guardian ad litem credits). Two hours of ethics also will be provided for LMHP's. Registration fees vary from $40-$70 depending on profession. Contact Children's Hospital & Medical Center for more information.
