Role Play Scenarios
The following role-play scenarios present both “OK” and “NOT OK” situations. The majority of the scenarios depicted are “NOT OK” situations. You are encouraged to create additional “OK” scenarios when presenting the following “What if?” and “What would you do?” situations.
- You are outside the store waiting for your mom to finish shopping. A woman walks up and says, “Hi, I’m your neighbor. I can give you a ride home so you don’t have to wait.”
What would you do? - You are playing in your front yard when a person drives up and says, “Hi there, are you ready to go? Your dad sent me to pick you up and take you to his office. Your mom said it was OK.”
What would you do? - You are riding your bike to a friend’s house. While you are waiting to cross the street, an older person comes up to you and says, “You look like a nice boy/girl. If you come to my house I’ll give you a horn to put on your bike.”
What would you do? - You are walking home from school and a woman comes out of her door. She says that she will give you hot chocolate and cookies if you come into her house.
What would you do? - A man who’s visiting your parents keeps coming into the bathroom and looking at you while you are taking a bath. Since the lock on the door is broken, you can’t lock him out.
What would you do? - You are walking to school when a man drives up in a car and says, “Your teacher told me to pick you up.”
What would you do? - You are playing at the park and see someone walks up to you and says, “My puppy is lost. See, here’s his picture. Won’t you please come with me and help me find him before he gets hurt?”
What would you do? - A cousin that often visits enjoys hugging you. When she hugs you she also touches your private parts.
What would you do? - You are playing at the park and see someone standing by some trees. He asks you to come over and talk to him.
What would you do? - You just got out of school. A man in a car says to you, “Your mom told me to pick you up. Hop in the car.”
