Child Abuse Comes in Many Forms

   

Neglect:

Neglect is the failure of parents or caretakers to provide for a child’s basic needs. This can be both physical and emotional.

Physical Abuse:

Physical abuse is inflicting a non-accidental physical injury upon a child. This may include burning, hitting, punching, shaking, kicking, beating or otherwise harming a child.

Sexual Abuse:

Sexual abuse is inappropriate sexual behavior with a child. This can include fondling, touching, pornography, etc.

Emotional and Verbal Abuse:

This includes injury to a child’s psychological or emotional stability. This can be belittling, harsh criticism, lack of emotional attachment.
